Our Mission
Our society and culture has placed less importance in etiquette, protocol and the concern of one’s image. The reality is, today’s generation experiences multi-cultural communities with many different protocols. They have competitive workplaces where office politics influences integrity, ethics and a greater emphasis on academics without any attention to developing common curtsies, self-motivation and personal achievements.
East Coast School of Protocol’s mission is to assist educators and parents in developing an individual’s image. We define what it means to have an image and how it is projected to everyone we meet. Students will understand that the image they develop is impacted through their actions, their appearance, what they say and how they say it. They will be given the necessary tools to build and enhance their image while increasing their confidence and self-esteem.
Specifically, students will be taught “soft skills” which are behaviors we use to communicate and socialize in our society. There are seven soft skills defined in educational and professional environments: communication, critical thinking and problem solving, teamwork, information management, entrepreneurship, ethics, moral and professionalism and leadership. These skills are interconnected and can be summarized into three high-level categories – social, communication and leadership skills. They are the hardest skills to teach, learn and measure. However, these skills are the most important skills needed to become a well-rounded individual that will succeed academically, professionally and personally.
East Coast School of Protocol has designed an assortment of age appropriate classes to cultivate necessary soft skills. Each class is filled with lively discussions, hands on exercises, role playing and unique activities that will provide students the opportunities to practice the soft skills they learn.
